    Scholarship Information:

    In Atlanta, Georgia, there is a private research university called Emory University.

    The second-oldest private university in Georgia, Emory was founded by the Methodist Episcopal Church in 1836 as “Emory College” and named after Methodist bishop John Emory (after Mercer University, founded in 1833).

    Emory College of Arts and Sciences, Oxford College, Goizueta Business School, Laney Graduate School, School of Law, School of Medicine, Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing, Rollins School of Public Health, and Candler School of Theology are the nine academic divisions that make up Emory University.

    Scholarship requirements:

    The following group of people are eligible for the scholarship:

    • Any student may be given consideration for the scholar programs, regardless of citizenship.
    • Nominations from high school guidance counselors are not required in order to be considered.
    • Students must be submitting an application for one of Emory University’s three admission phases.


    • The application deadline for the Emory University Scholarship Programs is NOVEMBER 15. (Applications for Early Decision I must be submitted by November 1).
    • Applications are examined by admissions and faculty committees from October through January.
    • Scholar Finalists are selected and notified by the end of February.
    • Finalists visit the campus in EARLY APRIL. membership in scholar programs announced.
    • Deadline for enrollment deposits is MAY 1.

    Method of Application

    • You must choose one of the three admission selection options (Early Decision I, Early Decision II, or Regular Decision and submit all necessary application papers by November 15 in order to be considered for any and all scholar programs. Early Decision I applicants must submit their applications by November 1.

    • Additionally, you have to select “yes” when asked if you want to be taken into consideration for merit scholarships on your application.
