There are several universities in the world but quite a number are recognised and accredited while a few make it to the top list in various rankings. There are however some that have been ranked based on the level of academic service that they offer in the field of IT and tech. These universities have been ranked by different educational bodies and they still make it to the top of the lists. However, there are universities in other countries that have found their way to the top list, this article will focus on universities in the USA.

    1. Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), US. This happens to always be among the top 5 in every ranking list. MIT is a private land-grant research university in Cambridge, Massachusetts. It was established in 1861 and has played a key role in the development of science and technology. The university has been accredited by the New England Association of Schools and Colleges since 1929. The institute’s admissions are most selective with an acceptance rate of 7% and an early acceptance rate of 7.4%. Half the applicants admitted to the Massachusetts Institute of Technology have an SAT score between 1510 and 1580 or an ACT score of 34 and 36. The application fee is $75 and the study fee is approximately 73,160 USD. With financial aid programs like MIT scholarships, fellowships, and grants, this overwhelming cost is reduced by almost 60% for international students.
In an academic year, MIT awards student support worth 625.626 USD, which fulfils the financial aid requirements of 89% of incoming students.
At MIT a graduate fellowship provides partial or full tuition fees to international students along with a stipend to cover living expenses. The fellowship amount may be up to 4000 USD. For a few graduate programs, MIT also awards need-based scholarship programs. Among their online short courses, MIT Computer Science and Artificial Intelligence Laboratory (CSAIL) is a pioneer in the sciences of computing, artificial intelligence, and machine. They are committed to continuous innovation in the field and pursuing positive change in the way people around the world work.

    2. Stanford University is also a top-ranked school for computer science. The school has been known for postgraduate studies since 1891, and now has more than 9,300 students enrolled in master’s and PhD programs across 90 departments and programs. Recent studies show that engineering is Stanford’s most popular graduate school, accounting for around 40 per cent of students. Stanford was ranked second in the world for engineering & technology in the QS World University Rankings by Subject 2018, behind the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). A third of graduate students are international

To be considered for postgraduate study, candidates must provide three types of documents: a statement of purpose, letters of recommendation, and university transcripts (academic records).
There is a non-refundable application fee of $125, and all students must submit GRE test scores as part of their application. In addition, non-native English speakers must prove their proficiency in the language by submitting an official TOEFL exam score.

Tuition at Stanford varies according to the program taken. Generally speaking, a graduate is expected to cover a minimum of eight units for the Autumn, Winter, and Spring quarters, for $10,620 per quarter to be considered full-time.
For doctoral students, the cost of tuition can be offset by university fellowships, research assistantships, and teaching assistantships. In special cases, master’s students may be able to receive these too, and charities, firms and external organizations have also helped graduate students at Stanford finance their studies. Without considering travel expenses, costs in the school add up to an estimated total cost of about $74,570 each year but many students do not end up paying nearly this much.

    3. Carnegie Mellon University offers new part-time online and certificate options. These options are particularly well-suited for students who cannot afford to leave their existing jobs. The Part-Time online option will enable students to earn their degree in as little as 24 months. Program requirements and the degree awarded is identical to those of the full-time on-campus program. The Privacy Engineering Certificate program offers accreditation upon completion of an intensive 8-week program with coursework offered remotely over weekends. Courses available include:
Artificial Intelligence, computational biology, computer science, human-computer interaction, BXA inter-college degree programs.Harvard University.

    4. Havard University, established in 1636, is the oldest higher education institution in the United States. This world-leading University is devoted to excellence in teaching, learning, and research while developing leaders across a variety of disciplines. Through a selection of online courses, produced in partnership with Harvard’s VPAL and Harvard’s Derek Bok Center, students from around the globe will access knowledge from within Harvard and beyond. They offer equal financial policies for local and international students. All aid is based on financial need, and admissions decisions are made without regard to whether an applicant has applied for financial assistance. Harvard meets each student’s demonstrated need.
Graduate students in computer science work with faculty researching:
    Artificial Intelligence
    Computation and Society
    Computational and Data Science
    Computational Neuroscience
    Computer Architecture
    Economics and Computation
    Graphics, Vision, and Visualization
    Human-Computer Interaction
    Machine Learning
    Programming Languages
    Systems, Networks, and Databases
    Theory of Computation.

    5. Princeton University. Their exceptional academics and Ivy League status are how many people know the university, but Princeton is known for more than just that. They are known for offering courses in engineering: computer and information sciences.
They have climbed two places in the world’s ranking for computer science, ranking 11th worldwide and sixth in the United States. They have been established as one of the best known and most respected universities in the world for over two-and-a-half century history. The undergraduate and graduate tuition fees for international students cost $53,890, excluding other essential fees, such as housing, board, and other miscellaneous expenses.
Princeton considers U.S. citizens and non-U.S. citizens alike in the admission and financial process.
