Hello. Goodday. Please I would love to move for a greener pasture but atimes it’s all seem too overwhelming for me.. I have a B.A in combined arts(history/English). I sometimes regret my line of study because I feel it’s not in line with professional courses that readily gives u job.Any opportunity for me? For advancement, further studies, scholarship included.where will favour me with my course of study or do I have to change course entirely to join the trend. Pls I need serious guidance cos am total confused.

Have contemplated nursing also but I sometimes wonder if it’s going to be possible with total arts background. I mean waec and uni. Pure arts, no science related courses.

I think your discipline is great, and I wouldn’t change it. The question now should be about what you want – a job or further studies, home or abroad?

The priority has to be set straight first. Once this is done, then you can look for solutions accordingly.

Things get complicated when there’s no focus, because this results in no major line of action – you face every direction and hardly make progress.

I think History/English is a great combination and the foundation to many Art courses and career paths. So, first decide on what you want next, then channel your actions in that direction.

What would you advise, @deborahetim ? You have a similar background 😁

I appreciate you taking out your time to reply to me. I would love further part-time studies with work. Is it feasible???. Definitely abroad.

Hi Jennifer. Please don’t regret it. There are always opportunities for a background like ours. I plan to apply for the Erasmus scholarship next year. I went through thier official site and so a lot of courses and opportunities for people like us.

The good news is you can work part-time while studying. So you don’t really have to worry about money.

If you’re interested in a scholarship, use this catalogue to find a suitable program.

Hello Jenifer, I think you’ve already got good advice here. To me most degrees are marketable, and like Mike said it all depends on what you really want to do. Also, what can you do well? that gives you a focus on where to channel your energy be it on either acquiring skills or going for further studies. Worthy to mention too is that with IT, many things are now possible. We see people using IT to create and do things that were never thought of before. I wish you all the best👌🏽

@Jenny4096 great insights from @Gentle here. Everything really depends on you. So, think things through and then follow through. You are for sure already on the right path; things can only get better from here. So, let us know how you want to proceed and if you need any assistance.
