I don’t know about a lot of y’all but leaving everyone I know back in Nigeria and relocating to Mauritius where I know nobody. It was a bit difficult becoming one with the cultures I found myself wandering most time and learning new things. I would like to know how it was for you guys.

Moving to Germany was relatively easy for me, because part of my family was already here.

In addition to that, I think been an open-minded person helped also; I was open to the German language & culture, work ethics, study style and generally to making new friends.

The language was relatively easy for me to learn in a short time, and once you understand the language, life becomes a lot easier for you.

Not forgetting the importance of networking and connecting with people who have what you are looking for.
@Gentle and @Williams20 how was it like relocating to Germany for you guys?

@Wohks thanks for your reply. Well I would say I am open-minded and what you said is all truth. I think it was just a bit difficult for me because I didn’t have anyone here. But so far so good I have come to love their culture and speak their language and that has really made my stay here very interesting and pleasant. I even get discounts now and then when they realise I am from another country and speak their language and that has been a big help?. Thanks once again for your input

      Lol 🙂

      Discount for speaking their language?

Must be nice – never heard something like that before.

What language do they speak – French? And how long have you been staying there?

Yes o I get discounts in the market, public transport and other places.
        A typical Mauritian speaks:
        Creole and

But their official language is English and French
