    Students cross boarders from one nation to another for their various academic needs. Europe is said to be the most go-to continent for students of all race and color to migrate to. There are various benefits of studying in countries such as Germany, United Kingdom, Norway, Italy, France etc. Amongst the obvious reasons such as quality and different style of education in Europe, its sophisticated and different cultural and social perspective, more career opportunities, international credit mobility and recognition, presence of institutional facilities etc.

    All these can be generally grouped under two main reasons;

    1. Core Reasons: which has to do with reasons directly related to study interest such as learning advantages, provision of educational facilities, learning and study exposure, quality and different style of education, more career opportunities etc. This reasons are directly motivated to a student’s academic needs and services.

    2. Other reasons: why people move to study abroad are associated with living, economic, social and governmental conditions that may negatively or positively influence the educational life of a student such as; economic and political safety, standard of living, socio-cultural interests, personal development, health care, learning or advance a language or skills, finding new passion etc.

    It is needless to mention that students these days who have had international experience studying in European countries are more attractive to future employers.

    You know, it is interesting how Europe seems to have all these advantages for one to study there, especially the high level of education, yet very affordable, if not 100% free (like Germany), yet it doesn’t pull the highest number of international students. The US and Canada, even though both expensive to study and live there, are still pulling higher numbers of international students yearly.

    What do you think could be the reason for this?

    This is very true, even with how cheap it is, international applicants often choose these countries. They come with simpler and more flexible admission requirements, lower cost of living, with faster processing times to obtain study permits, lower costs of entry and settling down and even seamless conditions of immigration.

    Although people have migrated to these European countries over the years, but It is also said that the number of immigrants in the US in the late 90s tripled and also increased for Canada in the early 20s. So now imagine knowing your relatives, friends and families have long settled there, it might even be enough trigger and reason for consideration, because any parent or guardian will feel safe and comfortable with their children with a known person in an unknown foreign country.

    And where the element of language is another factor, It think people migrate for different reason.
