The United Kingdom Visas and Immigration has ordered a temporary suspension to applications for study, work, and family visas. It added that this was due to the priority given to applications submitted through the Ukraine Family Scheme Visa. Those approved under the scheme will be granted a three-year visa, providing them with certainty and assuring their future in the country. The program is free, and there are no salary or language requirements.

This information is contained in a statement titled ‘Temporary Suspension of Priority Visas for Student, Work, and Family Applications’ published by the UK High Commission in Nigeria.

According to some parts of the statement, “We are still currently unable to offer PV for visitor applications in Nigeria. Standard visitor visa applications are currently taking an average of six weeks to process. Applicants will be contacted by the Visa Application Centre (VAC) when their passport is ready for collection. They should not attend the VAC until they have been invited to do so.”

They also went further to apologise for any inconvenience.

What this means is the UKVI will not be attending to any other visa application until further notice. This is an attempt to help refugees from Ukraine.
