Master’s students at the University of Reading can apply for a variety of scholarships. Some prizes are supported entirely by the University, while others are distributed to our students by donors and sponsors, and a few are co-funded. We are thrilled to announce that there will be more master’s scholarships available in 2022/23 than in any previous year. The Master’s Scholarships Scheme at the University of Reading offers two financing options:

Centenary Scholarship: The University is giving 100 scholarships to all master’s students to celebrate the forthcoming 100th anniversary of their Royal Charter. These prizes have been assigned to specific countries.

Subject Scholarships: Most of the Schools provide these scholarships, which are course–specific. Both this award and the Centenary Scholarship are available to students.
One or both of these scholarships may be granted to successful candidates.

    Eligibility Criteria

To be considered for sponsorship, you must have been accepted into one of the master’s programs. Eligible students will be able to apply for the scholarship using the me@reading applicant site, which will be open until the deadline.
Full-time or part-time study is permitted, but flexible learning / part-time modular master’s programs are not permitted.

Each scholarship is worth £4,000 for international students and £2,000 for UK/ Republic of Ireland students (whose tuition fees are normally lower). Scholarships are given in the form of a tuition fee reduction, and your tuition fees are guaranteed once you’ve been accepted. Scholarships are given out mostly on the basis of previous academic achievements.

Scholarship applications are accepted in two stages. The first stage concludes on March 1, 2022, while the second stage will review applications received by June 15, 2022. Candidates who did not advance from round one are automatically considered for round two if they still have a valid offer of admission to an appropriate course.

*You are only required to submit one application if you are eligible for both a Centenary Scholarship and a Subject Scholarship. You will be considered for both prizes and it is possible to be approved for both, which will double the amount of funds to be received.
